Version 2.0b5 ============= July 15, 1994. If you clicked the "New folder" button in the save article standard file dialog, NewsWatcher crashed. This was caused by an error in some of the new code in 2.0b3. Fixed. If you opened a text file which was created by some other program, in many cases NewsWatcher wouldn't let you close the window! You would get an unexpected error -39 every time you tried to close the pesky thing. This was caused by an error in some of the new code in 2.0b4. It's fixed. Fixed a few errors with scrolling and scroll bars in dialog text fields. The small padlock icon is now black instead of gray. It's not all *that* ugly or distracting, and gray was indeed a bad idea because it usually indicates a disabled control. If you dragged text from some other program to a NewsWatcher message window while NewsWatcher was in the background, the window wasn't updated until you brought NewsWatcher to the front, because of another error in the new 2.0b4 code. Fixed. NewsWatcher no longer displays invisible folders in the dialog you get when you set a default folder. It is now possible to option-click a URL which extends over more than one line. NewsWatcher removes the carriage return between the lines. You have to manually select the URL and then option-click it in this case, however. When pasting text, NewsWatcher no longer inserts an extra space in front of the pasted text if the preceding character is '(', '[', '{', or '<'.
