Version 2.0b22 ============== December 7, 1994. Well, it was bound to happen. There were several problems with the new Internet Config code in the 2.0b21 release. This version fixes the problems which have shown up so far. Errors Fixed and Other Changes ------------------------------ There is a new option named "Use Internet Config" in the "Miscellaneous Options" preferences topic. The default value is off. If you want NewsWatcher to use Internet Config for shared preferences, you must turn the option on. NewsWatcher 2.0b21 crashed on startup on Macs with the 68000 CPU (the Plus, Classic, and SE). Fixed. If you used a news server which required authentication, NewsWatcher didn't properly reprompt for your password if it was entered incorrectly. Fixed. On some Macs, there were repeated disk accesses when article windows were active. Fixed. The Internet Config pref for the tn3270 helper didn't work right with NewsWatcher. I was setting a helper pref for "nt3270" instead of "tn3270" because of a typing error in my code. Fixed. Fixed an error in the MacTCP "dnr.c" glue code which could in theory cause crashes later on your Mac. Blanks and other special characters are now allowed in passwords.
