Catherine Hirst and the WeThaw team just published in Communications Earth & Environment (Nature group Journal) their findings about the evidence for winter biogeochemical connectivity in permafrost soils. How did the team made this finding? Check “Behind the paper“.

The goal of LIFTHAW is to provide a comprehensive assessment of the nutrient mobility response in permafrost regions subject to thawing. The project is funded by BELSPO (2023-2025).

In December 2022, Bachelor thesis defense of Justine Mommer who did 4 months internship at UCLouvain on permafrost as part of her Bachelor program at Maastricht University. She is sharing her experience in a video produced for her Bachelor.
