We have developed a specific focus on permafrost and related cryosphere features in response to warming of the Earth\u2019s high latitude regions, and the implications for mineral-organic carbon interactions.<\/p>\n<p>Changing weathering dynamics in the Critical Zone in response to climate changes is expected to impact on mineral nutrient cycling and mineral nutrient export to rivers. At the local scale, we tackle the complexity of interacting processes (abiotic, biotic) involved in mineral weathering by an analytical approach combining soil science, geology, geochemistry and isotope geochemistry (e.g., Ge\/Si ratio, stable isotopes of Si, Mg, radiogenic Sr isotopes, etc.).
