Jean-Christophe Charlier is Full Professor at the University of Louvain (UCL) in Belgium since 2008. He has a “Laurea” degree in Physics from the Louvain School of Engineering (1990) and a “Bachelor” degree in Philosophy (1991). He defended his PhD thesis in Applied Physics in May 1994 at UCL.
He moved to EPFL in Lausanne (Switzerland) for a two-year postdoctoral stay as a Marie-Curie fellow (1995-96). In 1998, he obtained a permanent position at UCL as a Research Associate of the FNRS of Belgium. He is presently in charge of several lectures at UCL (Statistical Physics, Quantum Physics, Materials Science, Physics of Nanostructures, Atomistic Simulations, Quantum Transport in Nanostructures).
