Remi Sarkis

Short biography

Rémi sarkis was born in Lebanon in 1982. He received in 2005 a Diploma in Electric, Electronics, Telecommunication and Computer Engineering, from the Lebanese University - Faculty of Engineering (ULFG2).

In 2006 He accomplished a Master in science at the University of Gävle–Sweden, with a specialisation in microwave and telecommunication. He carried out an internship at The Catholic University of Louvain Belgium, in collaboration with the Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory (DRAO) of NRC in Canada. His research there has been carried out in the framework of the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) radio telescope project, and consisted of studying a technology based on wideband phased-arrays used for focal plane applications.

In December 2011, R. Sarkis obtained a PhD in Applied Electromagnetics from the Université catholique de Louvain. His research interests are fast numerical methods for electromagnetic fields in finite periodic structures and multi-band antenna array analysis and design.

• Experienced in CST and FEKO for antenna simulations, ADS for RF circuit simulation.
  
• Hands-on antenna measurements in anechoic chamber: S-parameters and Radiation.
• Familiar with Vector Network Analyzer, Power Meter and Signal Generator.
• Vast knowledge of antenna EM-simulations using the Method of Moments (MoM).
• Matlab for Antenna Simulation and Post-Processing Analysis: VSWR, Directivity.
• GMSH open source CAD software for plotting and meshing the antenna layouts.
• Expert in Antenna Array Calibration using Spherical Wave Modes Decomposition.
