Teaching

I am teaching :

  • general thermodynamics at the freshman level (1st year of engineering, in French);
  • general polymer physics at the master level;
  • the theory of polymer solutions and related experimental techniques at the master level;
  • and the use of polymers and macromolecules in advanced technology at the master level (project).

Previously, I was also teaching wave physics to engineers at the sophomore level; the set of simple animations I made to illustrate some wave phenomena can be found here (in French).

The pedagogical approach I am trying to follow is generally based either on projects or on flipped classrooms, except for one larger class of 400 which is taught by mixing exercises and a more classical teaching style. The idea is to have students learning by doing/thinking/computing, as opposed to being passively taught. In this context, I am currently also responsible of a multi-site project running between the partner Universities of the FAME European master, involving students who are geographically-separated and who have to work together in heterogeneous groups.
