New stuff

Optimal Control of Age-structured Populations in Economy, Demography, and the Environment, co-edited by Natalia Hrtonenko, Yuri Yatsenko and myself. The book is in press, and will be available in March 2010. This collection of contributed articles covers a wide range of topics in mathematical modelling of interlinked economic, technological and environmental processes. The unifying theme of the book is the integration of applied mathematical models that describe and optimize the mutual impact of economy, demography, technological change, and the environment on global, regional and local levels.

``Introduction to the special issue on sustainability´´, Mathematical Social Sciences, forthcoming 2010. This editorial provides  a bird's eye view of the papers included in the special issue, which represent the different strands that are emerging in the literature on sustainability (inter-generational justice, environment and natural resources, demography and policies).

``Promoting clean technologies under imperfect competition'', (with Th. Azomahou and P. Nguyen Van), revised December 2009.

``Sustainability, optimality and viability in the Ramsey model´´, (with N. Bonneuil), September 2009.

``Scarcity, regulation and endogenous technical progress'', (with N. Hritonenko and Y. Yatsenko), revised September 2009 (previous version entitled ``Growing under constraint: Exploring the mechanisms of modernization").

``Maintenance and investment: complements or substitutes? A reappraisal´´, (with G. Fabbri and F. Gozzi), revised September 2009.
