Northern Cross Radio Telescope (2008-2010)
- Description: The
goal is to develop the design of a broad
band antenna feed system for the cylindrical offset parabolic reflector
of the Italian Northern Cross radio
telescope. Its operative frequency band spans from the Low
Frequency Array (LOFAR) upper band, i.e. 120-240 MHz, to the present
telescope operative band centred at 408 MHz. The proposed
configuration consists of a linear array of gridded Vivaldi (tapered
slot) radiators inside wired sub reflector.
- NCRT Antenna Task:
- Numerical simulation of infinite array of wideband antennas inside a reflector.
- My contribution to NCRT: Numerical simulation of the array and analysis of the array characteristics: beam width, bandwidth and scan angles.

system (thick line) and the whole antenna system (thin line) at 120,
